A String of Pearls
Author(s): Hueneke, Klaus
The coastal strip between Jervis Bay and Eden is one of the most stunning natural and unpolluted coastal areas in the world. It has many strings of pearls – original wilderness, tall forests, sheltered beaches, lakes and lagoons, creeks and rivers, forested mountains, picturesque towns, camping grounds, walks and climbs, sacred sites, historic cemeteries, wooden bridges, dramatic headlands, flashing lighthouses, rocky islands, dairy farms and grazing lands. Fortunately for us and our children, more than 30% is under some form of long term protection. For this we can thank the foresight of the Fauna Protection Panel, National Parks and Wildlife Service and the Forestry Commission.
